The Pederson Family Christmas

This post is a little delayed, I had to get the pictures from my parents, but here it is: our final Christmas post. Every year we spend December 23rd with the Pederson side of the family. This year we had the entire family, plus Mom and Dad's foster kids, Dacia and Brandon.

We got to Big Lake around 4:00p and spent some time with the family. Dad and Chanda made pastas from our homemade pasta bar. It was delicious and we definitely ate too much.

After supper, and when all the dishes were done, we opened gifts. Everyone received great gifts and we were all very spoiled. I think Peder, was the most spoiled though (I hear Grandpa Pederson went a little crazy).

When we were all done opening gifts we had cherry dream squares for dessert. We haven't had them and years and I made a special request that they be our dessert this year. I must say they were delicious....I think I had 2 or 3 HUGE pieces.

Every Christmas celebration this year was a great one!

Peder's Baptism

Peder was baptized on Sunday, January 15, 2006, at Community United Methodist Church in Monticello. He hammed it up for the crowd and just looked at Pastor Dan when he was baptized. After his baptism he danced to the choir singing and the hymns. Afterwards, he promptly fell asleep. Melissa's sister Chanda and Jake's brother Nathan served as godparents/
sponsors.

After church we headed out to Grandpa and Grandma Pederson's for a brunch of ham, cheesy potatoes, broccoli salad, buns and cake. It was a delicious meal and we had all kinds of friends and family over for the celebration. I think my mom and sister counted 37 people.....that's craziness. We are very lucky to be loved by so many people.

Meeting Santa

Here's a picture from Peder's first meeting of Santa. He was a very good boy this year!

Marshall Field's 8th Floor Display

Every Christmas season we head to the Marshall Field's 8th floor display and then go to the Holidazzle Parade. This was Peder's first year and Grandma Pederson got him a Santa Bear to remember it by. This year's display was Cinderella.....it was a fun and beautiful display.

This year, Great Grandpa and Grandma Diekmann joined us for the weekend.

Christmas Day

Finally.....after a sick little boy and a broken computer, I am able to add our Christmas Day pictures.

After getting home at 2:00 in the morning the night before, we got up and headed down to Red Wing for the Early side's Christmas.

Bobbi read the story of the birth of Jesus out of the bible and then it was time for gift opening.

There are now seven grandchildren on the Early side, so it made for a full house and gifts overflowing from under the tree.

We all got great gifts and it was fun to watch the kids get so excited for Christmas.

After gift opening we sat around talking and had ham sandwiches for lunch.

It was a nice relaxing Christmas Day.
